As a member of the management team contributes towards formulation and implementation of operational plans that enable achievement of Company’s overall business plans.
Leadership and Motivation:
Directs and motivates members of own staff to carry out allocated duties in accordance with set policies and procedures and to expected standards so that the departmental objectives are achieved.
Compliance:
Ensures that the Company’s financial and managerial transactions are carried out and reported in accordance with the set policies and procedures and as per applicable legislations.
Recording of Transactions:
Ensures all financial transactions are recorded accurately and proper records are maintained in to conform with statutory and reporting requirements.
Budgets:
Prepares the annual budget draft in accordance to guidelines set by the CAO, circulates and monitors the utilisation of the approved budget to ensure expenditure is limited to approved limits and excesses are brought to notice of CAO. Implements own department budget in line with the approval obtained.
External Auditors:
Liaises with external auditors to enable finalisation of accounts and ensure compliance with applicable legislations.
Professional Advice:
Provide professional advice and support to all other departments on the full range of financial and financial performance issues to ensure decisions are taken with awareness of financial implications.
Bank Accounts:
Opens accounts, operates using signatory power along with the CAO and monitors bank accounts to ensure that transactions comply with the policies and procedures of the Company.
