Job Description
- Assist the Chief Engineer in organizing and managing the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient facility operations and prompt resolution of maintenance issues
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Analyze and optimize energy consumption, recommending and implementing conservation measures
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of public spaces, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective procurement
- Assist in the preparation and management of the engineering department's budget
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members, supporting their professional development
- Participate in renovation and improvement projects, offering valuable insights and expertise
- Respond to and resolve guest complaints related to facility issues promptly and efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management and development
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions
- Proficiency in energy management and conservation techniques
