Application Support Engineer - Linux Systems
Job Description
Manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, and containers. Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of Linux systems through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues. Configure and deploy new Linux systems as per project requirements. Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to streamline deployment processes and maintain consistency across environments. Implement security best practices to safeguard Linux systems against potential threats. Stay updated with security patches and vulnerabilities and apply necessary updates promptly. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for Linux systems. Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness during system failures or disasters. Set up monitoring tools to track system performance metrics and identify areas for optimization. Proactively tune Linux systems for optimal performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

Technical Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production
environment.
• Proficiency in administering Linux distributions such as CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, or Xen) and containerization
(Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for
automating infrastructure deployment and management.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and system
administration tasks.
