You will manage all accounting and external reporting matters for your assigned country. You will also effectively partner with an external auditor to address complex accounting topics and to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of results. In addition, you will work with our Mondelēz International Digital Services organization to drive accurate and timely reporting and to ensure proper reconciliations for all accounts in the market. In this role, you will foster a strong connection with the regional team and when appropriate, with the corporate controlling team to ensure full compliance with Mondelēz International’s Accounting and External Reporting (AER) policies and to ensure that we are adopting U.S. GAAP accounting standards in a timely manner. You will also ensure that we comply with all local accounting standards, see to the timely filing of financial statements and of indirect tax returns/payments (e.g. VAT, excise tax, sales tax).


How you will contribute


You will:


  • Manage all accounting and external reporting matters for your assigned country, including ensuring accurate and timely U.S. GAAP reporting and the timeliness and integrity of statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and KPIs. You will also provide insights into balance sheet movements and cash flow and ensure account reconciliations, intercompany charges, fixed assets, and restructuring are signed off for your assigned country
  • Contribute to a strong controls and compliance environment in the country and ensure full compliance with our AER policies. You will act as our primary contact with our external auditor for the country
  • Address complex accounting topics in coordination with the Business Unit or Region Controller and ensure timely adoption of all U.S. GAAP Accounting Standards in the country. You will also support the business on policy interpretation for changes in process or M&A activity
  • Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working on AER processes and systems such as SAP and build a mindset of continuous improvement in the country team
  • Build a high-performing Accounting and External Reporting (AER) team (Mondelēz International employees and actively manage the relationship with Mondelēz International Digital Services/third party providers). Recruit and develop talent and drive our AER talent agenda in the country

What you will bring

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting (AER) including a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, close processes and financial reporting systems. General knowledge in complex technical accounting such as treatment of FX, derivatives, employee compensation and pension plans. Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. General knowledge of tax laws and indirect and direct tax
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond the AER scope. Big Four accounting firm experience preferred
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills across a large global, public company. Experience working as a global finance leader managing global, cross-functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results
  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with Mondelēz International values and policies and external regulations

Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and related analyses, both internal and external, in line with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements (supported by MBS organization) 
 2. Ensure the month end close process is in line with group & local reporting guidelines.
 3. Ensure proper and timely development and updates of Corporate Governance, internal accounting and controlling policies and procedures, ensure their compliance to business requirements, local legislation, US GAAP and internal MDLZ standards. 
4.Lead Cash flow forecasting & reporting for all panning cycles, engage all stakeholders to get the source information with necessary challenges, checks and balances, consolidate, review with BU FD and submit timely to the region followed by discussions and necessary analysis
5.Partner with treasury and direct tax to manage dividend planning within liquidity & solvency partners
 6. Partner with direct tax  through the implementation of efficient tax management strategies while meeting all tax reporting obligations. 
7. Manage all indirect tax process including managing preparation of tax returns, processing of payments and filing, oversee the timely filing of returns and timely payment to ensure full compliance with local regulations. In addition, deal directly with local tax authorities to handle audits and manage the preparation of documentation to support any audit
 8. Manage statutory FS preparation in line with Local-GAAP and statutory audit as per agreed timelines and submission to the authorities.
 9.Collabarate with business partners to drive accurate accounting and reporting and be a focal point of contact for day to day administration, governance and troubleshooting
 10.Promote a sound and robust internal control environment.
 11. Build and coach the subordinates / team to ensure that strong professionals are in place and motivated to drive company efficiency in delivering results.
 12. Drive for simplification and automation in all tasks
13. Ensure / supervising coordination with consultants and cross functions to ensure 100% compliance with laws and regulations with the purpose to avoid any loss or penalty because of non compliance
14. Leading the process of Balance sheet governance through reviewing Balance sheet and Non Balance Sheet reconciliations on monthly \ quarterly basis and ensuring their completeness, accuracy and governance.
15. Closely partner with MBS organization in order for MBS to deliver agreed KPIs in Finance controlling area.
16. Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the AER team.


What you need to know about this position:
 1. 100% on time completion / submission of monthly financial close activities 
 2. Manage statutory close and audit process with EY/PwC according to agreed timelines
 3. 100% compliance with required review frequency for Balance governance - Zero reported OOPs
 4. Timely report on potential risks to the financial results and the Company cash flow
 


What extra ingredients you will bring:


High level of communication & leadership skills.
- Knowledge of FP&A and cash flow forecasting 
- At least 10 years working experience in an Audit Firm or a manufacturing/FMCG financial accounting environment in a finance analyst role.
- Ability to manage and collaborate with cross functional teams
- Managing people experience.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of all local tax laws.
- Strong knowledge and experience in working with financial systems example: SAP, MS Office, Hyperion Financial Management etc.
- Accountability and delivers under tight deadlines; strong analytical skills
- Analytical and Technical Accounting Skills in light of International and local accounting standards.
- Excellent practical knowledge and compliance experience of local Corporate, Tax, financial and banking regulations 


Education / Certifications:


- University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics with professional degree ( CA/ACCA / CIMA, CMA)
- Deep expert knowledge of Statutory Accounting  (for local accounting)
- Deep knowledge of US-GAAP / International Accounting Standards (for GAAP)
- Strong knowledge of SAP
- Strong knowledge of SOX requirements
