Salzburger Aluminium AG (SAG), an international supplier of Aluminum components and systems for the automotive, utility vehicle, aviation, motorcycle, and rail industries and Aluminum high-performance materials for the manufacturing industry has opened a new joint venture in Oman. Salzburger Aluminium Sohar LLC is a Joint Venture between SAG and Takamul Investments (a subsidiary of Oman Oil). The investment volume in the new foundry, which is to have an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes, was around $15 million. From the Oman base, markets in the Middle East and Asia should be developed. SAG has an export quota of 86%. In the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Slovakia, SAG has its own subsidiaries. 2008 SAG expect a turnover of EUR 500 million. The SAG group employs a workforce of over 1000.
