The minister of commerce and industry has approved the establishment of the cement company in the Northern region as a Saudi joint stock company with a capital of SR1.2 billion. This company will be managed by a 7-member board of directors appointed by the company's general assembly for a period of three years.

The establishment of the company comes within the framework of the government's policy to broaden and diversify the economic base and to encourage the private sector to contribute positively to the process of acceleration of the economic development in the country.

Northern Region Cement Company a Saudi Joint Stock Company is founded with a capital amount of one billion two hundred million Saudi riyals with its Head Quarter in Arar in the Northern Region and regional office in Riyadh. Its activities are

1. Production of all kinds of cement

2. Manage and Operate all kinds of cement plants

3. Wholesale and retail trade of the company's products and building materials including the import and export outside the Kingdom

4. Management, Operation and Maintenance of industrial installations for the purpose of supplementing the company

5. Own stocks and shares in existing companies

6. Ownership of land and real estate and construction

7. Enter bids and commercial undertakings

8. To contribute to the diversification of sources of national income

9. Resettlement of capital abroad and investment in projects of national interest of the homeland and citizens

10. Achieve profitable returns on capital for investors of the company and introduce the latest technologies in cement industry in the Kingdom to get the product in conformity with the standard specifications in Saudi Arabia and the world.
