Established in 1985, Contrack started as a privately owned and operated U.S. business headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area with offices and long-standing affiliates around the globe. Over the past two decades, Contrack has steadily increased its revenues as well as expanded its personnel and equipment resources and has been listed as one of the Top International Contractors in the world (as ranked by ENR Magazine) for the last 15 consecutive years. As a result of this expansion and increase in revenues, Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) acquired 100% of Contrack through a newly created European business entity in Cyprus called “Contrack Limited”.
Contrack has been operating in the Gulf since 1996 with its Gulf Branch Office in Qatar. Through the Gulf Branch Office, Contrack has executed particularly high-quality finish building construction projects including the Weill Cornell Medical College, (WCMC), in Education City, Doha, Qatar, designed by the renowned Japanese Architect Arata Isozaki, Qatar Foundation Housing (Lot 1), consisting of 232 housing units , the prestigious Qatar Science and Technology Park also in Education City, Doha, Qatar, a project at a value of $354,683,914, with very high quality finish requirements and unique finishing products. Additionally, Contrack has executed the Infrastructure Site Development project in Education City, which included utility tunnels similar to the subject project.
Today, Contrack continues to look for new challenging projects to add to our substantial experience thus far, which was accomplished by the award of the $2,400 Million Design and Build Sidra Medical and Research Centre project in Education City, Doha, Qatar.
