AZN O&M Company WLL (AZN O&M) is a joint venture between Kahrabel FZE (ENGIE) and Sumitomo Corporation. The shareholdings of both in AZN O&M are 50% respectively. AZN O&M is a special purpose company formed to undertake the Operations and maintenance of Az Zour North Phase I, a 1,500 MW Power and 107 MIGD water project situated 100 km south of Kuwait city. AZN O&M has a 40 year O&M contract with SHAMAL AZ ZOUR AL OULA FOR THE BUILDING, EXECUTION, OPERATION, MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FIRST PHASE OF AZ-ZOUR POWER PLANT K.S.C, which is the owner of the AZN power plant.

Shamal Az Zour has a 40 year Energy Conversion and Water Purchase Build Own Operate and Transfer Agreement with a the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) as a single off-taker, which is also responsible for providing natural gas and back up fuel for the project. Az-Zour North One Power and Water Plant is the first privately-owned gas-fired combined cycle power and water desalination plant in Kuwait, which will have a capacity exceeding 1,500 megawatts (MW) of electricity and 107 million imperial gallons of water per day (MIGD) (the equivalent of 486 thousand cubic meters per day). Power generated from Az-Zour North O&M Plant will be equivalent to 10% of Kuwait's installed power generation capacity, while the water output will represent 20% of Kuwait›s water desalination capacity.
