AWAL REFRIGERATION AND AIRCONDITIONING started its operations in 1963, to undertake general maintenance contracts using electrical appliances, refrigerators and air conditioner. In 1970, operational expansion of the well-equipped central air conditioning started which then became the HVAC Division. In 1972, the Company marks the beginning of the solely owned brand name “GULFSTAR” which was released in the market. In 1980, initiated the production of stainless steel kitchen equipment which eventually emerged as the only local fabricators of kitchen equipments. Eventually, the Company diversified into civil work contracting unit called “AHMED ABDULLA KHALID CONTRACTING ESTABLISHMENT”. It was formed to cater specifically private property development. Following the success of this venture, the company continually involved in private and government contracts which then later expands to civil, electrical, fire fighting and plumbing works.
