The Institute of Applied Technology is endeavoring to lead career-based technical education in the region. Founded in 2005 through a royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, IAT has been set up to create a world class system of career-based technical secondary education for UAE students. IAT's aim is to meet the industrial and technical challenges and requirements that will allow students to enter higher education institutions and pursue careers in advanced technology. The five IAT secondary school campuses are located in Abu Dhabi, Al-Ain, Dubai, Ras Al-Khaimah and Fujairah. However, IAT's projects extend beyond our secondary schools and encompass such higher learning startups as aviation, logistics, nursing, and a vocational training center. At present the institute's program are focused within four career clusters: Engineering Math and Sciences; Manufacturing and Mechatronics; Logistics and Transportation; Architecture and Construction.
