Job Description

IT Business Analyst Needed for Insurance Company in Calgary, AB

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our client’s team which is a leading insurance provider in Canada, Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between the business and IT departments, ensuring that our technology solutions align with the company's strategic objectives.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT developers and subject matter experts, to develop and implement effective solutions
  • Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and requirements gathering to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, such as user stories, process flows, and system specifications
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new software implementations
  • Continuously monitor and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and efficiency


Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry
  • Strong understanding of business processes, data analysis, and information technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms
  • Proficient in using business analysis tools, such as Visio, Excel, and Project
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management principles
