Vacation time; there are no words that taste sweeter than those. Then there’s that feeling of relief when you have finally finished a semester and can kick back for a few weeks. There probably aren’t words in the entire English language that can fully describe just how invigorating it is. That said, just because it is your free time, it doesn’t mean you should prop your legs up on a table and do nothing. You may or may not realise this, but unlike when you were in school, any time off you have in university is essential to furthering your career.
You might think you have so much time left, but when it comes down to it, every day counts. In order to secure yourself a good job after completing your degree, you need to start thinking smart. And, by that we mean, you need to start thinking about internships.
Why internships? Are there really enough internships out there? How will internships help me? Don’t employers only hire internships to send them out on coffee runs? All these questions and more are probably running through your head as we speak. Don’t fret, for Bayt.com’s very own Hatem Hannoun is here to talk you through internships, tell you how employers really feel about interns and explain to you just why they are so important.
