Bayt.com, the leading online recruitment resource in the Arab world, came in for special recognition for its outstanding achievements in the IT world, by being awarded the2002 Arabian Business "e-Entrepreneur of the Year" Award recently.

The2002 Arabian Business e-Achievement Awards, held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Defence Minister of the UAE, honoured individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the region's "knowledge economy" and were given away at a gala dinner hosted for key international and regional IT industry leaders by the Information and Technology Publishing (ITP) Company on Monday, October14th,2002.

Bayt.com's Chief Executive Officer Rabea Ataya was selected for the award by a highly distinguished panel of IT and business professionals who included Ibrahim Al Hashemi of the Dubai World Trade Centre, Salem Al Shaer of Dubai E-Government, Gilbert Lacroix of Intel, Steve Lockie from Tech Data, Ali Baghdadi of Aptec, Mohammed Kateeb of Microsoft, Farid Metwaly of IBM, Joseph Hanania of Hewlett Packard, Michael Collins of Dell, Hussam Dajani from Oracle, Walid Akawi of ITP and Hasan Abdul Rahman from Arabian Business Magazine.

Ataya joined a high-caliber list of winners to be honoured by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed during that event. Other winners included Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Kingdom Holdings, and Mohammed Al Sharekh, Chairman of Sakhr Software.
