Bayt.com, the number one source for jobs in the UAE announced today that it has launched a brand new and improved version of its website that facilitates the job search process even further; by giving job seekers even quicker and easier access to finding jobs; thereby shortening the time it takes job seekers at every career level to find their perfect position, or enter into their career of choice.
The latest update to the website comes both in response to job seekers’ feedback, and from Bayt.com’s continuous research and critical assessment of its current systems, processes and website functionality that aim to make the site even more navigable, user-friendly and effective for finding a job and even more pioneering on a global footing.
Bayt.com additionally announced today that during2008, one million new job seekers signed up to the site, bringing the total number of registered job seekers to2,750,000. Furthermore, as a measure of its effectiveness in matching professional talent to relevant jobs, the site enjoyed a95% employer satisfaction rate throughout the last year as measured by the independent Bayt.com Corporate Excellence Unit.
“The past year has been a very successful year for us and we have been receiving many more professional job seekers to the site – especially in the face of the global economic downturn and its ramifications on the labour market in terms of redundancies and unemployment, which demonstrates the importance of having a reliable job seeking service during these difficult times,” explained Dan Stuart, Head of Strategic Initiatives at Bayt.com
“To reflect the dynamic nature of job seeking in the region and to further facilitate this process, we have completely revamped our website, in order for job seekers to benefit from a tool that meets their job seeking needs even more effectively and robustly. This site revamp firmly cements Bayt.com's positioning at the vanguard of the industry in terms of the tools and content we have made available to our employers and professional jobseekers alike.”
One of the fundamental changes to the Bayt.com site is that the high volume and variety of jobs on offer will be at the core of the site’s operations, as opposed to job seekers being encouraged to register their information first and then look for a job afterwards. The unique ‘Find Jobs’ bar means job seekers are intelligently guided towards the current relevant job listings, while allowing them quick access to search by company, sector or location, in addition to having quick access to saved searches, saved jobs and an advanced job search.
Moreover, the update to the system further allows job seekers the option to zoom in and zoom out of the job results specific to them, using key job criteria in the left sidebar. These ‘clustered’ criteria present choices to zoom in on a more detailed list of results, and then zoom back out if necessary.
The new interface of the site has additionally been designed to be less cluttered and easier to navigate. Initial job searches can be conducted quickly from the homepage by putting keywords for a required job, alongside the preferred country location; while ‘Featured Employers’ and ‘Hot Jobs of the Week’ will be prominent on the homepage and can be accessed instantly by clicking the link. “In putting the spotlight firmly on finding jobs, job seekers can more accurately find a position that matches their interests and experience first, rather than having to spend time trawling through a number of jobs that might not be relevant or useful for their career development,” explained Stuart of the updated site.
Significant changes have also been made to the Bayt.com CV Builder to ensure that a job seeker’s CV is recorded in such a way that it can be viewed by employers to pinpoint specific areas of the applicant’s experience. What’s more, the changes to the CV Builder ensure that the process of building and updating a CV is much simpler for job seekers: in using newer technologies and being better organised, the CV Builder now allows job seekers to upload or paste the body content of their CV directly into the CV Builder; thereby reducing time spent copying out the information unnecessarily, and eliminating the need to write a CV twice.
The new website will also feature a new blog, which will be written by Bayt.com professionals as well as regional HR professionals and will be a medium for communicating regional events; product development; trends in the regional recruitment industry and in regional HR; and general hints and tips on how to get the most out of the Bayt.com site. The blog is open to comments from readers, with opportunities for further discussions about the topics that are covered.
“At Bayt.com, we remain firmly committed to accurately matching job seekers to relevant and suitable jobs based on their experience, interests and requirements. In making these changes and updates to our dynamic site, we are demonstrating this commitment to the labour market in the Middle East, by making the whole experience of finding a job – for the ever growing number of professional job seekers - more efficient, more worthwhile and better than ever,” concluded Stuart.
