Bayt.com to launch region’s first Virtual Technology Job Fair in cooperation with Dubai Internet City

Following on from the phenomenal success of its Virtual Job Fair series and the recently launched Virtual Education Fair, Bayt.com, the region’s number one job site, announced today that it will be facilitating the recruitment process in the technology sector, with the launch of its Virtual Technology Job Fair. Between March28 and April1, job seekers looking for technology industry roles can log on to the Bayt.com website for the unique opportunity to search for jobs, submit a CV, and interact with technology industry employers – in an efficient and convenient online recruitment forum.

The Virtual Technology Job Fair (VTJF) – another regional first for Bayt.com – will be run in cooperation with strategic partner Dubai Internet City, the region’s premier ICT cluster and a member of TECOM Investments, and with media partner Mediaquest Corp. The online event aims to effectively connect qualified job seeking candidates, specialists or graduates, with career opportunities from technology companies.

Candidates will have the easy and unique option to ‘attend’ the job fair from any Internet-accessible computer and submit their résumés to participating companies of interest any time during the five days; while enabling local, regional and international employers to establish an active talent-seeking presence, without physically being in a location.

“For the first time in the Middle East we are launching an industry specific version of our hugely popular Virtual Job Fair, in a move that aims to empower job seekers to actively find and apply for technology industry employment – all via one central and convenient location,” commented Amer Zureikat, Bayt.com. “By the same token, the online job fair will enable employers to communicate vital information about their company to a wide online audience, with the additional benefit of access to some of the region’s top talent.”

Malek Al Malek, Executive Director, Dubai Internet City said: “It is our pleasure to support Bayt.com’s premier virtual technology job fair. In DIC we are committed to facilitating industry growth and the development of the region’s IT talents. Through embracing modern technology, we look forward to making the partnership with Bayt.com a great success and hope that the fair will have a positive impact on the growth and enhancement of the IT talent Pool. This platform will help and support both the employees and employers in finding the suitable opportunities to grow and benefit the industry.”

Like in previous online job fairs, the innovative Virtual Technology Job Fair will feature animated3D ‘virtual booths’ on the website for different participating companies. As in a physical job fair, each booth will be branded with the exhibitors’ names and logos, and will provide access to a range of information about the company, including corporate culture, the company’s business activities and recruitment practices.

The fair will additionally feature a CV drop option for job seekers to directly submit their résumé to the booths of their choice and directly apply for advertised jobs; and the opportunity for employers and job seekers to interact in real time via online or video chat. A series of links will enable job seekers to connect to a directory of current vacancies in a particular company, avoiding the hassle of having to root through various job postings.

As seen in Bayt.com’s previous virtual job fairs, the technology fair will provide a wide range of benefits to job seekers. “Because at Bayt.com we conduct our job fairs online, professionals that are currently employed but are seeking new employment don’t have to take time off work to visit a physical location, which gives them the benefit of saving both the time and the cost of travel to a traditional, physical location. What has also proven so popular with job seekers is the fact that the fair is completely confidential, so professionals can search and apply for jobs discretely from any Internet-accessible computer.”

The Virtual Technology Job Fair will also offer a wide variety of benefits to the region’s employers: it provides the ideal forum for employers to increase brand awareness and visibility and present their company as a pioneer on what has proved to be the Middle East’s most innovative online job platform. It also allows organisations to advertise their job vacancies on the Middle East’s number one job site, which already has over four million registered users from over94 industries across the world. Furthermore, participating in the online technology job fair also minimises the hassle, time, and resource requirements associated with event management at a physical job fair. It allows for cost savings of up to50% and can maximise an organisation’s human resources return on investment. After the event, employers will have the option of measuring the success of the fair for their organisation, with Bayt.com’s advanced reporting tools.

“Today, employers and job seekers alike realise the myriad advantages that using the Internet for recruitment brings,” commented Zureikat. “By launching our first industry specific version of our popular virtual job fair, we are excited about connecting top talent with the region’s leading technology employers – in a dedicated, sophisticated, and highly relevant forum. We are confident that it will be hugely popular among all technology industry players and job seekers, and may signal the start of more industry specific job fairs online, in the future.”
