Bayt.com to boost Egyptian job market with second Virtual Job Fair

“Today, employers and job seekers alike realise the myriad advantages that using the Internet for recruitment brings. The first job fair in Egypt was a huge success and we except the second one to be even better", commented Amer Zureikat, Vice President, Bayt.com.

VJF Egypt2010will provide candidates with the easy and unique option to ‘attend’ the job fair from any Internet-accessible computer and submit their resumes to participating companies of interest at all times; while enabling local, regional and international employers to establish an active talent-seeking presence, without physically being in a location.

Over the past two years, Bayt.com has hosted more than10 successful online job fairs, which have welcomed over180,000 job seekers and over200 employers from across the Middle East region. For the fair, Bayt.com constructs animated3D “virtual booths” on the website for the different participating companies. The virtual booths, like physical job fairs, are branded with the exhibitor’s name and logo and provide visitors access to a range of information about that particular company.

“Throughout the past two years, Bayt.com’s Virtual Job Fairs around the Middle East region have proven to be a very popular and efficient way for job seekers to actively find and apply for employment - all via one central and convenient location,” added Zureikat.

The innovative virtual job fair will also feature a CV drop option for job seekers to directly submit their CV to the booths of their choice and directly apply for advertised jobs; and the opportunity for employers and job seekers to interact in real time via online or video chat. A series of links will enable job seekers to connect to a directory of current vacancies in a particular company, avoiding the hassle of having to root through various job postings.

In terms of employer benefits, the virtual job fair provides the ideal forum to increase brand awareness and visibility, and allows organisations to advertise their job vacancies on the Middle East’s number one job site, which already has over4.5 million registered users from over94 industries and185 countries. Participating in the online job fair also minimises the hassle, time, and resource requirements often associated with event management at a physical job fair; allows for cost savings of up to50% and can maximise an organisation’s HR ROI. Post event; employers that participated will have the option to measure the success of the virtual job fair for their organisation, with advanced and accurate reporting tools.

“The VJF is hassle- and stress-free and saves time as well as travel and logistical costs associated with visiting physical job fairs, while providing professionals with complete confidentiality and the convenience of participating from the comfort of their home, office, or any computer lab ”, stated Zureikat.

Egypt’s first ever VJF in2009, received around81,000 visits, and more than17,000 registrations - making it one of the most highly attended job fairs ever in the country. What’s more, more than200 jobs were available in the fair.
