Bayt.com, the Middle East’s number one job site, recently welcomed more than2028 visitors to its second Virtual Job Fair (VJF) in Lebanon, which ran on the Bayt.com website between October11th and15th2010. The online job fair, which aimed to address the country’s unemployment, especially as a result of the challenging market conditions, gave employers and job seekers the opportunity to interact in a convenient, private and efficient forum. VJF Lebanon2010 recorded2910 registrations.
“Online recruitment has a fundamental role to play in the way that companies engage and recruit their staff today. Our job fair and innovative recruitment methods went a long way in promoting employment in Lebanon this year. Judging by the success of our second Lebanon VJF, virtual job fairs are now surpassing traditional methods as the recruitment option of choice by both job seekers and leading organizations in the region,” commented Ramy Labaky, Unit Manager of Bayt.com in Lebanon.
Participants at the VJF included Arabian Construction Company, Giftmart International, GoNabit.com, Kettaneh Construction, L'Orient-LE JOUR, Media Quest Corp, Ogilvy & Mather, PSLAB, and Transmed. The VJF is extremely popular with employers at the forefront of the recruitment industry, who see the benefits and importance of state-of-the-art employer branding activities and are prepared to tap into the most advanced technologies to harness the power of the web to interact with top talent on a real-time basis in order to hire the region’s best.
“VJF Lebanon was very effective at connecting Lebanon’s qualified job seekers with the best-fit career opportunities around the Middle East. We are proud to have sponsored such a great service very much needed in the region, especially in these tumultuous times”, said Joumana Haddad, Mediaquest.
Over the past two years, Bayt.com has hosted more than10 successful online job fairs, which have welcomed job seekers and professionals from across the Middle East region. For the fair, Bayt.com constructs animated3D “virtual booths” on the website for the different participating companies. The virtual booths, like physical job fairs, are branded with the exhibitor’s name and logo and provide visitors access to a range of information about that particular company.
“Throughout the past two years, Bayt.com’s Virtual Job Fairs around the Middle East region have proven to be a very popular and efficient way for job seekers to actively find and apply for employment - all via one central and convenient location,” added Labaky.
The Virtual Job Fair offers a variety of significant advantages to job seekers and employers alike. For job-seekers, the VJF saves time off work and travel and logistical costs associated with visiting physical job fairs, while providing professionals complete confidentiality and the convenience of participating in the job fair from the comfort of their home or office.
In terms of employer benefits, the virtual job fair provides the ideal forum to increase brand awareness and visibility, and allows organisations to advertise their job vacancies on the Middle East’s number one job site, which already has over5 million registered users from over94 industries and185 countries. Participating in the online job fair also minimises the hassle, time, and resource requirements often associated with event management at a physical job fair; allows for cost savings of up to50% and can maximise an organisation’s HR ROI. Post event; employers that participated will have the option to measure the success of the virtual job fair for their organisation, with advanced and accurate reporting tools.
