Paying homage to passion, creativity and hard work, Bayt.com has launched a community campaign to celebrate15 years in the business of building careers, in collaboration with Jordanian a cappella band “Tarab3al7atab” and Kuwaiti hip-hop crew “Sons of Yusuf”.
The two groups share their rich life and career stories using music as a platform. “Tarab3al7atab” pay homage to those who do what they love; while the two Kuwaiti brothers celebrate various careers through hip hop. Both videos invite audiences to add to the conversation and be the writers of their own story through a custom platform provided on bayt.com.
“Bayt.com’s history is full of stories. Since we started, millions and millions of stories have fueled our progress,” said Rabea Ataya, CEO, Bayt.com. “2015 marks Bayt.com’s15-year story. We’ve been working very hard since we started in2000. Evolving from a simple job site, Bayt.com is now the leading multi-dimensional career platform in the Middle East, and we help over22 million people improve their careers and livelihoods. That's our story. To celebrate, we are really excited about the #WhatsYourStory campaign, which also celebrates the fact that millions of people on Bayt.com also have their own stories to tell. Our goal is to help them showcase their personal career stories, the journeys of a lifetime. We are also eager to continue to collaborate and create with individuals with particularly inspiring careers, starting with Sons of Yusuf and Tarab3al7atab.”
Speaking on behalf Tarab3al7atab – ‘Arabs Got Talent’ semi-finalists -- Executive Producer Jana Zeineddine said: “We really enjoyed this collaboration with Bayt.com, not only because each one of us has worked really hard to be where we are today, but because we believe in the philosophy of the campaign. We are architects, pharmacists, engineers, psychologists, theatre directors, performers and musicians, and we tried to show that in the video. We truly love what we do, and that’s why we do it, so when Bayt.com asked us to conceptualize a music video that reflects a passion for your work, and working together, we were immediately excited. We also believe in the message: do not let anyone else write your own story. Believe in your vision and your abilities, collaborate with like-minded people and always follow your instincts. Also, never be afraid to take risks - no matter what the outcome. We learn the most from our mistakes. That’s how one grows.”
Challenging the status quo in the Gulf in terms of an unusual career choice, Ya’koob and his younger brother Abdul’Rahman Al-Refai were the perfect creative partners for Bayt.com’s creative venture. The number one recruitment company in the Middle East gave the Sons of Yusuf a simple brief. They wanted the artists to relay the message of the importance of telling one’s own unique story, and to do so in a very relatable and organic manner.
“When Bayt.com first approached us, we were extremely excited. It’s not every day that we’re asked to do what we love for a regional brand. We went for it wholeheartedly because we were given complete creative control over the lyrics and the direction of the video. We are able to tell what is essentially our own story and our views on work in the region. We’re still learning, still searching but we’re staying focused. We hope that this video is an inspiration to others to share their own story with Bayt.com,” said Ya’koob of Sons of Yusuf.
Bayt.com has been in the business of building careers, facilitating social interactions between recruiters and professionals, and enabling the region’s workforce to carve their desired niche in the regional job market for15 years. To celebrate this impressive milestone, the recruitment platform’s aim was to portray in this career and lifestyle campaign that every regional stakeholder in light of their varied cultural and career and lifestyle characteristics and multi-faceted dreams and ambitions and objectives has a unique story to tell and to encourage them to share it with peers and employers on Bayt.com. Using the hashtag #WhatsYourStory, audiences from around the region can share their success and challenges across social media platforms.
“#WhatsYourStory took months of dreaming and teamwork and engineering,” continues Ataya. “The spirit of the campaign is one of collaboration, so it involved various parties, including the bands, production agencies, filmmakers, directors, and people across different departments in our own organization. The video campaign revolves around the stories of Sons of Yusuf and Tarab3al7atab. Additionally, we have a social media and print campaign that captures the stories of various people from the Middle East. Ultimately, #WhatsYourStory is a celebration of creativity, hard work, and passion. It is in line with our mission at Bayt.com is to empower people to write the life story they want, starting with their career. We’re here to give them the tools to make a good story. To help them share that story in all the right places. To introduce them to the people who may change their life.”
