Results from the Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey carried out by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s number one job site, and global market research company, YouGov, have indicated high optimism amongst Qatari respondents. Over three quarters (76%) of Qatari respondents expect business conditions in Qatar to improve.11% of respondents said they expect business conditions to “remain the same,” while only7% said they could get worse.
Job Satisfaction
With regards to job satisfaction levels,61% of Qatari respondents are satisfied with their career growth opportunities, while21% are neutral.
Over half (52%) of respondents in Qatar are satisfied with the level of job security that they have in their current organization and18% are neutral.
A similar pattern was seen when it came to training and professional development.51% of respondents said they are satisfied with this aspect, while23% were neutral.
In terms of work-life balance,54% of Qatari respondents said they were satisfied, while22% were neutral.
Looking at future career growth opportunities,63% of Qatari respondents believe that career growth opportunities will get better over the next six months,23% said they will remain the same, while only3% said they could get worse.
This positive outlook by respondents was also reflected on their expectations for compensation in the next six months, with47% believing that it will get better,41% expecting their compensation to remain the same, and only6% saying it could get worse.
For non-monetary benefits,53% of Qatari respondents believe these will get better,33% believe they will remain the same, and only7% said they could get worse.
With regards to training and professional development more than half (54%) of respondents believe that it will get better,27% said it will remain the same, and only8% said it could get worse over the next six months.
Lastly, when asked about future work-life balance,48% of Qatari respondents said they expect it to get better,33% expect it to remain the same, and only8% said it could get worse over the next six months.

Personal Economic Conditions
Qatari respondents were asked about their personal financial conditions.55% of Qatari respondents believe that their or their family’s financial position will “improve” in the next six months.22% of respondents expect their financial conditions to “remain the same as it is now,” while only9% of them said it could become worse.
Nearly two thirds of respondents (65%) are highly optimistic that the economy of Qatar will improve over the next six months, while only10% said that it could recede. Further, over three quarters (76%) of Qatari respondents expect business conditions in Qatar to improve.

Data from the2017 Bayt.com Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey was collected online from August1st,2017 to August24th,2017. Countries included the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and others.
