The state of economies are ever changing and the world’s economy is set to grow in2018, but what about the regional economies? The latest results from the Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey carried out by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s number one job site, and global market research company, YouGov, indicates that nearly six in10 respondents in Oman expect business conditions to improve within the next year.22% of respondents said they expect business conditions to “remain the same,” while only8% said they could get worse.
In addition, over half (54%) of respondents are either “somewhat” or “very hopeful” that they will find their ideal job in the next six months.
Job Satisfaction
With regards to job satisfaction levels, over half (51%) of respondents in Oman are satisfied with their career growth opportunities and19% are neutral.
Over half (55%) of respondents in Oman are satisfied with the level of job security that they have in their current organization, while11% are neutral.
A similar pattern was seen when it came to training and professional development, where48% of respondents said they are satisfied with this aspect and11% were neutral.
In terms of work-life balance,51% of respondents in Oman said they were satisfied, while20% were neutral.
Looking at future career growth opportunities,40% of respondents in Oman believe that career growth opportunities will get better over the next six months,32% said they will remain the same, while only11% said they could get worse.
When it comes to job security,40% of respondents in Oman believe it will improve,41% said it will remain the same, while only11% said it could get worse over the next six months.
With regards to training and professional development, more than four in10 respondents (41%) believe that it will get better,33% said it will remain the same, and only13% said it could get worse over the next six months.
Lastly, when asked about future work-life balance,39% of respondents in Oman said they expect it to get better,38% expect it to remain the same, and only13% said it could get worse over the next six months.

Personal Economic Conditions
Respondents in Oman were asked about their personal financial conditions. Nearly half (47%) of respondents in Oman believe that their or their family’s financial position will “improve” in the next six months.27% of respondents expect their financial conditions to “remain the same as it is now,” while only8% of them expect it to become worse.
Respondents in Oman are also very optimistic about future business conditions within the next year, where nearly six in10 of them (59%) expect business conditions in Oman to improve.22% of respondents said they expect business conditions to “remain the same,” while only8% said they could get worse.

Data from the2017 Bayt.com Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey was collected online from August1st,2017 to August24th,2017. Countries included the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and others.
