More Than One in Two Kuwaitis Expect Personal Finances and Business Conditions to Improve Within a Year

The state of economies are ever changing and the world’s economy is set to grow in2018, but what about the regional economies? The latest results from the Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey carried out by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s number one job site, and global market research company, YouGov, indicates that over half (55%) of respondents in Kuwait expect business conditions to improve.20% of respondents expect business conditions to “remain the same,” while only12% said they could get worse.

Job Satisfaction

With regards to job satisfaction levels, nearly half (47%) of respondents in Kuwait are satisfied with their career growth opportunities and20% are neutral.

45% of respondents in Kuwait are satisfied with the level of job security that they have in their current organization, while17% are neutral.

A similar pattern was seen when it came to training and professional development.44% of respondents said they are satisfied with this aspect while18% were neutral.

In terms of work-life balance,47% of respondents in Kuwait said they were satisfied, while20% were neutral.

Looking at future career growth opportunities,45% of respondents in Kuwait believe that career growth opportunities will get better over the next six months,30% said they will remain the same, while only14% said they could get worse.

This positive outlook by respondents was also reflected on their expectations for compensation in the next six months, with37% believing that it will get better.36% of respondents expect their compensation to remain the same, while only18% said it could get worse.

With regards to training and professional development, just under four in ten (39%) respondents believe that it will get better,35% said it will remain the same, and only15% said it could get worse over the next six months.

Lastly, when asked about future work-life balance,39% of respondents in Kuwait said they expect it to get better,30% expect it to remain the same, and only21% said it could get worse over the next six months.

Personal Economic Conditions

Respondents in Kuwait were asked about their personal financial condition. Over half (55%) of respondents in Kuwait believe that their or their family’s financial position will “improve” in the next six months.23% of respondents expect their financial conditions to “remain the same as it is now,” while only9% of them expect it to become worse.

Respondents in Kuwait are also very optimistic about future business conditions within the next year, where over one half (55%) of them expecting business conditions in Kuwait to improve.20% said they expect business conditions to “remain the same,” while only12% said they could get worse.

Data from the2017 Bayt.com Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey was collected online from August1st,2017 to August24th,2017. Countries included the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and others.
