Bayt.com Survey: What Makes the Ideal Manager in the MENA

Managers should always strive to positively influence their teams, and in order for them to do that they’ll constantly need to be updated on any new changes in the expectations of their employees and even their employers. What makes an ideal manager? What do employees now look for in a manager? Do they prefer a certain characteristic over another?

Bayt.com has recently conducted a survey to measure and record what makes an ideal manager in the MENA region.

Key findings:

  • 97% of professionals choose jobs based on the company’s management structure and style.
  • 71% believe that higher salary and better management play an equal role in choosing a particular job.
  • The most important part of a manager’s job includes communicating vision and directing efforts (56%) and assigning tasks and responsibilities (21%).
  • During an interview, candidates judge a manager based on their communication and personality (44%).
  • Most respondents believe that hierarchy in organizations is necessary for clarity (65%) and may be essential in larger organizations (33%).

Data for the Bayt.com’s What Makes the Ideal Manager in the MENA was collected online from July 3 to 31, 2022. Results are based on a sample of 2,479 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan among others.
