How Bayt.com facilitated hiring with Expo 2020 Dubai

In 2014, the Bureau Expo 2020 Dubai L.L.C invited bids from all over the world to create an online solution serving as a recruitment portal for Expo 2020 Dubai.

Bayt.com understood the requirements well and came up with a quick, easy and customized solution to streamline the recruitment process for them. After submitting the proposal in 2014, the team at Expo 2020 Dubai and Bayt.com had many discussions to understand the technical capabilities of the products and how it would be able to carry out the project. In 2015, Bayt.com won the bid and was honoured with the opportunity of creating Expo 2020 Dubai’s online recruitment portal.

The Ask

Expo Dubai 2020 required a comprehensive recruitment platform for their hiring needs. The portal had to be branded and customized under the Expo 2020 Dubai event and support the recruitment for full time positions, temporary jobs, and volunteers.

• Expo 2020 Dubai wanted to create an end-to-end portal from hiring to onboarding the candidates.
• The portal had to be rebranded as an extension of the Expo 2020 Dubai website.
• They wanted it to be highly customisable, online, easy and user friendly.
• They also required the support of multilingual content.
• They wanted to create personalized workspace for candidates to create their profile, browse vacancies and opt for internships/volunteering opportunities.

Bayt.com’s Solution

Bayt.com created a user-friendly and feature-rich portal for Expo 2020 Dubai powered by two products - Talentera and Afterhire.

Once the candidate was hired, all the onboarding needs were taken care of by Afterhire.

It is a configurable employee onboarding application that helps organizations get higher employee productivity in quicker time, save cost, time and effort on employee onboarding and reduces employee churn. The platform allows you to create your customized onboarding workflow, invite new hires to a branded employee portal and keep them engaged with various onboarding tasks like getting digital approvals and going through learning resources.

Both the products Talentera and Afterhire worked together like magic to create a robust, customisable and feature rich recruitment platform for Expo 2020 Dubai. The recruitment team was able to move new hires from Talentera to Afterhire with just a click and the single sign on feature helped the new hires to use their same credentials for both the products.

Though the project had started back in 2015, and the pandemic delayed it quite a bit, the online portal helped overcome the obstacles and accelerated the processes for remote teams.

The seamless integration of Talentera and Afterhire resulted in the creation of a remarkably efficient recruitment portal for Expo 2020 Dubai that took care of their end-to-end hiring tasks.
