Bayt.com Survey: Career Aspirations in the MENA

To what extent are MENA professionals feeling optimistic about the upcoming year? What are they aspiring for in the future? What about their professional and personal ambitions?

Bayt.com has conducted a new survey titled “Career Aspirations in the MENA” to uncover the career and personal aspirations of MENA professionals, and to tackle their general perceptions and attitudes towards their jobs and overall work environment.

Key Findings:

  • Three-quarters of professionals (75%) in the region have a positive outlook for the upcoming year.
  • The top personal goal for next year was reported to be saving more money, according to nearly two-thirds of respondents (65%).
  • The respondents reported salary and benefits (72%), opportunities for career growth (46%) and job security (32%), as the most important factors in a job.
  • Around two-thirds of respondents (65%) believe they deserve to work in a higher-level position.
  • 63% reported setting future professional goals for themselves, which included finding a new job (58%), learning new skills (51%) and getting a higher salary (48%).

Data for the Bayt.com ‘Career Aspirations in the MENA’ survey was collected online from May 31 to June 10, 2021. The results are based on a sample of 1,549 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and others.
