Bayt.com Poll: The 2021 New Year’s Resolutions

It's a popular tradition to set New Year's resolutions at the beginning of the year. But as 2020 has been a very unusual year for everyone around the world, it’s interesting to understand MENA professionals’ expectations for 2021. How optimistic are they about the New Year? Have they made any resolutions? What expectations do they have of MENA employers?

Bayt.com has conducted a new survey to spotlight the career goals MENA professionals will focus on in 2021. The 2021 New Year’s Resolutions Poll reveals many insights related to professionals’ plans, hopes, and concerns for the New Year.

Key findings:

  • A majority of MENA professionals (80%) feel positive about 2021.
  • 74% have made resolutions for the New Year.
  • 70% of respondents are satisfied with their career growth during the past year.
  • Saving money (64%) and exercising and following a healthy diet (17%) are the most popular personal resolutions.
  • A whopping 81% will spend more time looking for remote jobs in 2021, using online job sites (77%).

Data for the 2021 New Year’s Resolutions Poll was collected online from 28 October to 20 December 2020. Results are based on a sample of 4062 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and others.
