Team Building & Motivation in the Middle East and North Africa

“Teamwork makes the dream work”, we always hear this saying, but do professionals in the MENA region agree with it when it comes to teamwork in professional settings? Do employees prefer working with a team over working independently? For those who do, what makes teamwork so appealing? What are the challenges that may impact the efficiency of teams? What is the ideal size of a team according to employees?

A healthy team provides benefits for the individuals and the organization as well. The Team Building & Motivation in the Middle East and North Africa survey reveals what professionals had to say about this topic.

Key findings:

  • 75% of professionals say it is extremely important to hire candidates based on their ability to work in teams.
  • Nearly two thirds of professionals (62.4%) prefer jobs that require teamwork while only 7% prefer jobs that allow them to work independently.
  • 94% of respondents say that teamwork positively impacts their productivity.
  • 66% of survey respondents say that they feel more responsible when they are working in a team.
  • 70% of respondents find it more motivating to work in a team.

Data for the 2019 Team building and Motivation survey was collected online from October 13th, 2019 to December 22nd, 2019. Results are based on a sample of 7,301 respondents from countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan among others.
