Bayt.com Infographic: Health and Lifestyle in the Middle East and North Africa

The Bayt.com ‘Health and Lifestyle in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll, March 2016, shows that professionals in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are becoming more and more aware of the positive impact making the right choices can have on their health and wellbeing. Today, more professionals are taking positive steps towards a healthier life.

Key Highlights:

  • A colossal 96% of MENA professionals believe it is the employer’s responsibility to promote employees’ health and wellness.
  • 87% of professionals would more likely exercise if their company offered a gym or gym subscriptions.
  • The most popular forms of exercises among MENA professionals are running/walking (29.7%), intramural sports (17.8%), and swimming (15.5%).
  • 65% of MENA professionals have adopted healthier eating habits lately.
  • 26.8% of MENA professionals smoke, and63% of those who smoke do so less during work hours.
  • A busy schedule (30%) is the biggest barrier preventing professionals from making healthy life choices.

Data for the Bayt.com ‘Health and Lifestyle in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll was collected online from 18 December 2015 and 12 January 2016. Results are based on a sample of 8,205 respondents. Countries that participated in the poll include the UAE, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
