Bayt.com Infographic: Secrets of Career Success in the Middle East and North Africa

Career success consists of a number of different components, and insights from MENA professionals illustrate how closely connected these factors can be. In the MENA region, a few key elements prevail, as shown in a recent poll entitled ‘Secrets of Career Success in the MENA’, conducted by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s leading career site. The vast majority (95%) believe that networking and maintaining relationships with key players has been extremely important to their career success, and more than half (50.2%) have a career mentor.

Key findings:

  • Almost nine out of ten (88.8%) MENA professionals think that taking risks has been important for them to succeed in their career.
  • Three in10 respondents (29.1%) owe their career success to hard work.
  • The overwhelming majority (95.6%) say their family has been important to their career success.
  • Nearly nine in10 (89.1%) of MENA respondents think that their college education is directly related to their career success.
  • More than one third (34.5%) say that their ultimate vision of success is being a true innovator, creator, or pioneer.

Data for the 2016 Bayt.com ‘Secrets of Career Success in the MENA’ poll was collected online from April 20, 2016 to May 17, 2016. Results are based on a sample of 7,018 respondents. Countries that were included are the UAE, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar, and KSA.
