There are many factors to consider when it comes to the possibility of moving to a new city for work. The MENA region is incredibly diverse and hosts a range of factors which affect the overall standard of living in addition to the opportunities for career growth, success and economic stability. The Bayt.com Top Cities Survey ranks the most desirable cities for people to both work and live in based on the attributes considered most valuable by people in the MENA region.
Key Findings:
Dubai and Abu Dhabi ranked as the top cities to live and work in
77% of respondents believe that availability of jobs is the most important economic aspect.
Muscat residents are the most happy about their current city of residence at an overall level with84% of them stating so.
In terms of comfortable weather, Beirut emerges best (54%) followed by Marrakech (52%) and Alexandria (45%).
Dubai takes the top spot for accessible public transportation with86% of its residents giving it a positive rating.
In terms of availability of educational institutions, Beirut is the leading city (79%) followed by Abu Dhabi (76%) and Dubai (76%).
Data for the2017 Bayt.com ‘Top Cities in the Middle East and North Africa’ survey was collected online from September6th to October2nd2017. Results are based on a sample of5,114 respondents. Cities assessed include Algiers, Alexandria, Beirut, Doha, Amman, Riyadh, Dubai, Muscat, Manama, Casablanca, Kuwait City, Eastern Province, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Sharjah, Tunis, Rabat, Marrakech and Damascus.
