Bayt.com surveyed fresh graduates across the region to reveal their beliefs and concerns about the job market in terms of employment potential, expectations, and skills. How does university major changes the career path? Do universities prepare students to enter the workforce? What skills and qualifications do they graduate with? Read more below.

Key Findings:

  • 78% claimed that ‘finding a job’ is the top challenge when asked what challenges their generation faces the most.
  • The majority (64%) of respondents would consider relocating for employment purposes.
  • Nearly7 in10 respondents used or planned to use leading online job sites to find their first job.
  • One-third of respondents feel optimistic about the career and educational opportunities for their generation, as compared to their parents’ generation.
  • 60% of respondents believe that computer skills are the most important skill to acquire, followed by (40%) linguistic skills.

Data for the2018 Bayt.com Fresh Graduates in the Middle East and North Africa Survey was collected online from May22,2018 to June28,2018. Results are based on a sample of1,293 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Others.
