Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef Cold Kitchen to join our team at our prestigious 5-Star Hotel in Manama, Bahrain. As a Sous Chef Cold Kitchen, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the cold kitchen section. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and assisting in menu planning and cost control.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Executive Chef in planning and organizing the cold kitchen section.
  2. Oversee the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, salads, appetizers, and desserts.
  3. Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  4. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques and presentation.
  5. Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering and receiving supplies.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cold kitchen section.
  7. Assist in menu planning and development, taking into consideration food cost and availability of ingredients.
  8. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food service.
  9. Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations.
  10. Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef Cold Kitchen or similar role in a high-end hotel or fine dining establishment.
  2. Strong knowledge of cold food preparation techniques, including salads, appetizers, and desserts.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  5. Attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing dishes.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  8. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  9. Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and utensils.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
