Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Curate wine lists to complement the fine dining experience offered by the standalone restaurant.
  • Provide recommendations and expert advice to guests on wine selection based on their preferences and menu choices.
  • Maintain and manage the restaurant's wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation of wines.
  • Train and educate staff on wine service techniques and wine pairings with dishes on the menu.
  • Participate in regular tasting sessions to stay updated on new wines and vintages in order to enhance guests' dining experience.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairing menus for special events and promotions.


Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine-dining establishment.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine varieties, regions, vintages, and proper serving techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing wine inventory and cellar.
  • WSET or similar wine certification is preferred.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working in standalone fine dining restaurants.
  • Proven track record of creating successful and profitable wine programs.
  • Familiarity with the local and international wine market trends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
