II. POSITION SUMMARY


  • Electrical engineer for handling the site safety, plant maintenance, and operation including all the supportive activities like site work supervision, contractor’s follow-up, spare part purchasing, and technical reporting.
  • The electrical engineer will report directly to the plant manager, and will collaborate and effectively communicate with all the internal and external stakeholders to achieve the objective of operating the MECD plant with zero incidents, at the highest reliability and productivity,

  • MECD plant is an M10$ asset with an annual maintenance budget of approx 100,000 U$.

IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


This position is accountable for the following results:


To communicate and report with integrity, ethically, and transparently to his in-line manager and to work collaboratively with the O&M team. Understand all relevant EH&SQ regulations applicable to the facility and support the plant manager in developing plans on how they will be implemented to ensure compliance.  Take an active role in all site safety programs and administer and comply with all company and statutory safety, operational, and security rules and regulations. Provide safety induction training to visitors/contractors attending the site when needed. The report, and where possible, eliminate all potential hazards by using the Air Products Basic Safety Practice (BSP) system. Regularly participate in site and operations safety meetings to ensure all safety-related issues are identified, discussed, understood, and successfully resolved. Support in Operating the carbon dioxide plant as per the procedures and parameters laid out.  Fill in the log sheets and the daily report. Verify availability and reliability calculations and reporting and prepare industrial report figures. Avoid wasting the raw materials and the product when needed. Monitoring the plant water treatment plan. Monitor the Carboscan parameters and performance. Support of Handling the operations of the CO2 Plant individually with the support of one junior operator as per the organizing plan prepared by the plant manager. Ensure that the spare parts are well stored (as per manufacturer instructions and AP relevant procedures) to keep them in good condition and ready for use Responsible for the Mechanical / E&I daily activities on the site, including fixing faced troubles, Unplanned maintenance tasks, and performing Mechanical / E&I planned maintenance tasks. As part of the on-call team, responsible for the security and safety of the site, liaise with BAPCO as appropriate. Maintain company rules for discipline, punctuality, absenteeism, etc., Maintain good housekeeping and tidiness in the facility. Become acquainted with Cost Control measures as laid down by the plant Manager. Make entries into the plant logbook to include all operational data, messages, unusual events, work done & spares used. Liaise with Personnel on-site to communicate plant conditions, work instructions, existing work permits in force etc.  To collect production data, check for errors or signs of plant problems. Be able to resolve discrepancies before bringing them to the attention of Regional Operations management. To carry out routine and specific work tasks as directed by the plant manager, identify required work, and allocate Personnel or contractors to ensure its completion. To start, stop, and isolate equipment and unit processes as required. To be fully conversant with all on-site modifications as the plant/customer requirements dictate. During Plant shutdowns, maintain overall control of the safety and operation of the Plant. Provide assistance and support to the team performing the maintenance. Align with the yearly site operation and maintenance budget agreed with the plant manager. Provide technical, operational and trouble-shooting assistance at the facility.  Ensure that routine maintenance as designated by the SAP PM system and non-routine maintenance as and when required is diligently performed to the necessary standards, utilizing the resources within the Plant and outside resources where required (contract labour / external technicians). Provide minor project supervision and spare control via SAP. Carry out an ongoing assessment of PM activities and make recommendations for continual improvements in the system. Respond to critical alarm dial-outs from the Plant (or by another contact from BAPCO etc.) by remote connection to the site to ensure product supplies remain available to the customers as per the business plan. Provide cover to the operation team as required and when available. Updates operations SOPs when required. Handle the site's electrical instrumentation, automation, and electrical power maintenance. Handling the general plant maintenance activities, the PM activities, corrective activities, and troubleshooting Prepare the plant trip technical reports, investigation reports, and improvement study reports. Supervision the electrical work activities execution, following the electrical spare parts purchasing, Control the continuous operation of the plant. Observe safe working practices and procedures while maintaining harmonious working relations with BAPCO, customers, Air Products personnel, and suppliers. Support the regional maintenance activities coordination/supervision within the small- to medium-sized production plants, working with the plant manager and the current regional maintenance lead. Responsible for keeping the plant maintenance procedures and plans in place and unit operation parameters per design. Follow all the Air Products policies and standards. Be familiar with the tanker filling process and documentation process and execute it in very limited special conditions.


V.  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical/Automation/Instrumentation)
  • Minimum two years of experience in any industry as an electrical maintenance engineer.
  • Excellent Communication & coordination skills.
  • Fluent oral English and excellent written English.
  • Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi-team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization across functional and reporting relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
