The opportunity
The University of Strathclyde, Bahrain is seeking a talented Human Resource Adviser to join our team. You will play a crucial role in establishing our Bahrain campus, working closely with the HR Manager and team members based in the UK to ensure smooth operations and foster a positive work environment. This position offers a fantastic learning opportunity and the chance to be part of a global team at a leading international university.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
1. Serve as main point of contact for staff queries. Provide guidance on HR-related matters, including benefits, policies, and procedures.
2. Assist in resolving employee relations issues and escalate matters to the HR Manager as necessary.
3. Support the recruitment process by coordinating job postings, interviews, performing reference and background checks, issuing employment contracts, and support pre-employment processes.
4. Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and orientation sessions are scheduled.
5. Manage all visa-related processes, including applications, payments, documentation, expatriate work permits, and staff registration/termination with relevant authorities (SIO, LMRA, Ministry of Labour)
6. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and conducting quarterly filing audits for accuracy.
7. Manage employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, terminations, and conduct exit interviews with necessary paperwork.
8. Ensure accurate and timely payroll submission while managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance.
9. Support employee engagement initiatives and organize University wide events to foster a positive work culture.
10. Stay updated on employment laws and regulations in Bahrain to ensure legal compliance in all HR practices.

Qualification Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
