We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hedge Fund Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of hedge fund operations. This role involves managing fund accounting, reviewing trade and broker confirmations, ensuring seamless reconciliations, and executing strategic hedging activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial markets, operational processes, and hedging strategies, along with a proven ability to ensure accuracy and efficiency in fund management.
Key Responsibilities
Trade and Broker Management:
Review trade activity and broker confirmations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage broker portals and coordinate with brokers for smooth operations. Reconcile trades, positions, and cash balances across multiple brokers and custodians.
Reconciliations and Reporting:
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of fund accounts and financial statements. Prepare and review monthly settlement reports to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
Hedging and Risk Management:
Monitor and manage hedged parameters to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Oversee consumer price fixing and strategic hedging activities, ensuring adherence to risk mitigation frameworks.
Operational Oversight:
Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. Implement and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure all hedge fund accounting practices align with industry regulations and standards. Provide timely and accurate data for audits and regulatory filings.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or equivalent certifications preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in hedge fund accounting, financial operations, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of hedge fund structures, accounting principles, and operational best practices. Proficiency in hedge fund accounting systems and tools. Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of SQL or other database systems is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with brokers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.* Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
