The Exhibition Floor Plan Designer will design and implement floorplans for the Bahrain events which include some of the regions most well-established consumer events. You will be reporting to the Technical Manager and will be working closely with the show leads to develop unique and creative floorplans that will enhance the exhibitor and visitor experience. In addition this role will support the Technical Manager with various pre-event and on-site support relating to stand design management and quality assurance


The Floor Plan Designer works with key event stakeholders on the creation, updating & maintenance of technical floor plans throughout the event cycles. The designer will be responsible for seamlessly balancing & incorporating all commercial revenue opportunities alongside H&S, security & venue regulatory requirements thus ensuring that all floor plans meet &/or exceed standards. 


The designer will work with the team from the initial briefing stage through to onsite implementation. They will offer collaborative, fresh, innovative ideas to help maximise revenues whilst placing the customer experience & visitor flow at the heart of the floor plan process.


This role  must be able to work collaboratively within a team, possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to take on multiple tasks, work independently and prioritise own workload.


Job Summary/Responsibilities


Floor Plan Design


  • Create commercially astute, Health and Safety (H&S) and venue regulatory compliant floor plans for all allocated events.
  • Be the subject matter expert on floor plan technology & CRM System integration in its current state within the business and also able to help shape & inform future strategy & platform selections.
  • Lead on the discovery, sourcing & implementation of onsite interactive floor plans to aid onsite navigation & greatly improve customer experience at our physical events.
  • Provide clear & accurate drawings that follow venue restrictions and guidelines.
  • Manage all drawings internally & externally so relevant parties have the correct, legible plans fit for purpose, i.e. rigging plans, feature production plans, shell construction plans, sales catalogue plans and so on. 

Collaboration and Communication


  • Be the key point of contact for the show teams for floor plans, offering them the best service & optimum turnaround times.
  • Manage the control and distribution of floor plans internally to event teams whilst following operational company processes with excellent attention to detail.
  • Work with the sales operations team assisting them with any changes required above their permission levels within Expo Cad.
  • Support the event team with any requirements during the rebooking process, including being available onsite at the events when requested.
  • Liaise with venues to ensure we have the most recent CAD drawings for utilisation on events; build & manage a library of these accordingly.
  • Communicate with official suppliers / operations team to provide detailed technical / production plans for registration areas and features upon request
  • Collaborate with Informa H&S team to ensure all floor plans meet and exceed the company’s H&S, Security & Sustainability guidelines at all times

Technical Support


  • Provide technical support to the Technical Manager on Event Production, Stand Design Management, Project Planning and Execution and Quality Assurance

Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility.



Qualifications
  • Must have a strong background in spatial technical planning and experience in drawing software, e.g. AutoCAD, Expo Cad Contractor, Event Floor Plan Designer or similar OR has the ability to learn new software and programs quickly.
  • You will possess a good working knowledge of the exhibition industry & venues as well as a strong existing network of high-quality suppliers to the exhibition industry
  • Great communication skills – being able to liaise with Operations team members as well as working with, Commercial & Event Director level within the event teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines, with attention to detail when working under pressure.
  • Ability to work on multiple floor plans at once is a prerequisite.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills – other languages a bonus.
