About the Job:


An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Rooms role to join Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Family. The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the Rooms Division operations achieve their goals and contribute to the guest experience and overall profitability of the hotel whilst maintaining Jumeirah standards.


The Director of Rooms will oversee the operations of the Rooms division, including both the front office and housekeeping teams.Your key duties and responsibilities of this role:


  • Develop the hotel operating strategy in order to provide innovative and exciting guest experiences that meet the business objectives
  • Participate in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan, and Sales and Marketing Plans to ensure hotel operations are adequately represented
  • Coordinate the organizational and administrative functions in all areas of the Hotel operation to ensure delivery of the strategy and compliance with Jumeirah standards
  • Monitor service and product standards in all areas of the hotel ensuring that managers take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Monitor the activities and trends of competitor hotels to keep up to date with international trends in order to ensure the competitive advantage of the hotel.
  • Make recommendations for modernization of equipment, service methods, and presentation to improve guest satisfaction and profits.
  • Ensure that each department is accounted for separately as an individual profit Centre and is managed by a team who are accountable for their profitability.
  • Monitor closely the profitability of all departments in order to provide solutions to improve problem areas and assist in implementing corrective measures.
  • Set, in close conjunction with each department manager, annual operating budgets which will form part of the Business Plan.

About You:


The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Hotel Administration or Business Administration
  • At least 2 years in a position of direct responsibility as Rooms Division Manager or within a hotel/resort.
  • Hotel/Resort experience, including strong understanding of hotel distribution.
  • Working in a 5-star luxury property
  • Demonstrates highly developed Rooms Management and Leadership skill set
  • Capable of developing, articulating, and implementing
  • Possesses strong problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical abilities
