Position Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring excellent customer service, staff management, and smooth service flow. They assist in training employees, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Supervise and coordinate staff to provide excellent service to guests.
- Ensure that all opening and closing procedures are followed correctly.
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness, organization, and maintenance.
- Assist in managing reservations and table arrangements to maximize efficiency and customer experience.
- Staff Supervision & Training:
- Support in hiring, training, and mentoring new employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance employee performance.
- Assist in scheduling and shift planning to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Motivate and lead the team to maintain high morale and productivity.
- Customer Service & Guest Experience:
- Ensure all guests receive top-quality service and a positive dining experience.
- Address customer complaints and resolve any issues efficiently and professionally.
- Monitor and respond to customer feedback to improve service standards.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests and foster positive relationships with regular customers.
- Sales & Revenue Management:
- Support in achieving sales targets and maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Assist in implementing promotional activities to attract and retain customers.
- Monitor and analyze sales reports, suggesting improvements to increase profitability.
- Upsell menu items and train staff on sales techniques.
- Inventory & Cost Control:
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and managing stock efficiently.
- Work with the Restaurant Manager to minimize food and beverage waste and control costs.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and adherence to financial policies.
- Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure the restaurant adheres to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Train staff on proper sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Assist in maintaining records related to sales, employee performance, and operational issues.
- Prepare reports for management regarding restaurant performance and customer trends.
- Support in managing payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Supervisor, or a similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hospitality best practices.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
- Basic financial knowledge for sales tracking and cost control.
