Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer - Structures specializing in Cable Stay Bridges to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the construction and maintenance of cable-stayed bridges, ensuring structural integrity and project success.


  • Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of cable-stayed bridge construction activities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
  • Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues
  • Prepare detailed technical reports on construction progress, quality control, and structural integrity
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the construction process
  • Collaborate with the design team to address any field-related design modifications
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians on cable-stayed bridge construction techniques

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on cable-stayed bridges
  • Relevant experience in supervising cable stay bridges, marine bridges and grade separated junctions.
  • Proven experience in construction site supervision
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and cable-stayed bridge design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques
  • Excellent technical report writing and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth understanding of cable-stayed bridge construction techniques and structural integrity assessment
  • Experience with quality control processes in bridge construction
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams
  • Willingness to work on-site in Manama, Bahrain, and travel as required
