Job Description
Production Oversight & Management:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day production activities, ensuring all processes related to injection, moulding, and shrinking run efficiently and meet quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules to meet output targets, while ensuring optimal utilization of equipment and manpower.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as quality, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure smooth production flow.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on process issues and initiate corrective actions to ensure minimal downtime.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and train production team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Build a high-performing team by promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence.
- Ensure that staffing levels are adequate for production needs, including overseeing hiring and training initiatives.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications, working closely with the quality control department.
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
Production Planning & Reporting:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute production plans aligned with business goals.
- Monitor production KPIs (e.g., cycle times, downtime, scrap rates) and prepare detailed reports on production performance.
- Develop and manage budgets, controlling costs while maintaining high levels of efficiency.
Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in production management are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/production management, with strong expertise in injection moulding, moulding, and shrinking.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of injection moulding, tooling, and production processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using production management software and reporting tools.
