British American TobaccoAlgeria has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Skills Development Executive in Algeria, Algiers.
The fundamental purpose of the role is firstly, to raise the capabilities and skills of our Marketers to serve consumer needs better, and secondly to create a sustainable, successful organization to ensure fit for future capability building in the Organization.
The job holder will identify needs, facilitate, and enable learning, gain expertise in and communicate new learning trends, explore and become proficient in the use of digital technologies, involve Line Managers in cultivating a strong global learning culture, and enhance employee engagement to drive high on the job performance.
The job scope will range from meeting the learning needs of individuals to developing and implementing an L&D strategy to support business success.
The role extends beyond Trade Marketing & Distribution and serves the entire Marketing function.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Business Results:
- End Market implementation of the Global Marketing L&D agenda: Design and deliver marketing development programs that align with the company’s current and revamped route-to-market and route-to-consumer strategies.
- Partners the global Talent Development team for Marketing to achieve full implementation of the Global L&D agenda. In addition, provides feedback to this team, including appropriateness of programs, changes needed, considerations when designing programs and works to provide local context where necessary.
- Develops, delivers, and facilitates innovative local learning interventions that respond to local business demands.
- Visit sales representatives regularly to assess their performance and adherence to new marketing standards.
- Provide on-field training and support to address individual development needs.
- Gather feedback from the field to inform broader training program adjustments.
- Enhances development planning by providing trends for new skills requirements or sources of learning content for Marketing.
- Collaborate with management to support change initiatives, providing resources and training to mitigate disruption.
- Evaluates all learning and development activities taking place in Marketing. Such evaluation should seek to cover Reaction, Learning, Behaviour and Results.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, performance evaluations, and development plans.
- Prepare regular reports on training effectiveness and field performance metrics for senior management.
- Consult with stakeholders to achieve the most effective allocation, tracking and reporting of Marketing Learning & Development budget and resources.
People Results:
- Drives the development of facilitation and coaching skills to support the embedding of 70-20-10 and self-directed learning across Marketing.
- Through an internal marketing campaign drives a culture of enthusiasm for lifelong learning in Marketing. Such a campaign will involve HR, line managers and leadership teams to drive or anchor key learning and development messages relevant to the End Market but inspired by Global Marketing L&D direction.
- Through effective stakeholder engagement, timely execution of L&D programmes, the MSDE should work to improve employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle from onboarding to the way learning opportunities are communicated and made available.
Working Conditions
- Field based tasks: Approximately 25% to 50% of the time spent visiting sales representatives and conducting on-field training.
- Office based tasks: Approximately 50% to 75% of the time dedicated to developing training programs, evaluating performance data, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Travel: Regular travel within the designated region to meet with trade teams.
What are we looking for?
- Approximately 3 years’ experience within the Marketing function (preference for both Trade and Brand experience). Demonstrates the capacity to drive for high performance and sustainable business results.
- Relevant Bachelors ‘Degree
- Facilitation – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem Solving – Adaptability to changing business environments and proactive problem-solving mindset..
- Time management – Ability to work independently and manage time effectively between field and office duties.
- Design Thinking – Driven from a strong ability to empathise with learners to design complete experiences. Complete learning design through effective and practical prototyping to anticipate unintended consequences of design.
- Analysis & Insight – Strong analytical skills to assess performance data and identify training needs.
