Functional / Operational tasks:
The Chemist technician is responsible to perform the below tasks but not limited to,
Responsible laboratory reagents, chemicals, equipment’s inventory.
Responsible for proper storage of chemicals in the laboratory.
Responsible for daily performing water sampling of pre-treatment, Reverse Osmosis process, CO2 plant.
Responsible for writing comprehensive reports on lab analysis, laboratory and membranes cleaning chemicals preparation.
Responsible for lab management to analyze raw materials, equipment calibrations, online instruments verification and confirmation of good results (Chlorine, Conductivity, pH, Turbidity analyzers) chemical preparations, Jar Testing . ........
Responsible for chemicals leaks detection in the plant.
Responsible for reporting on water qualities (Raw water , feed water , product water ).
Responsible for verifying the quality of chemicals delivered, of chemicals such as Caustic Soda, Sulfuric Acid, Hypochlorite Acid, Ferric Chloride, Sodium
Hypochlorite, SBS ..... etc.
Responsible for safe chemical preparations in the lab
Responsible to support operation and maintenance team members on investigating & troubleshooting the process disturbances by monitoring/controlling routine lab analysis report and follow-up on non-routine analysis report
Responsible to check the PXs blocked and vessels conductivity
Responsible of SDI tests
Responsible of weekly effluents analysis
Responsible of mandatory register of effluents analysis
Assist to membranes loading in the RO as supervisor if needed.
Assist to yearly Warehouse inventory if needed.
Identify the equipment malfunctioning like chemicals skids dosing and notify the concerned department responsible in time for necessary actions.
Knowledge and hands of experience in chemical classification and safe disposal of unused chemicals
Responsible for housekeeping inspection the area 6 (CO2, Caustic, Limestone, Neutralization basin, CIP)
Responsible for chemical storage compatibility management in the laboratory.
Responsible for facilitating and maintaining high EHS performance on the site.
Responsible to follow site EHS regulations, hazardous chemicals handling, confined space activities, chemical spill control
Responsible for maintaining hazardous waste management in order to comply with the company policy.
Facilitates and maintains high EHS performance on the site. Strictly to follow site EHS regulations, knowledge on hazardous chemicals, co knowledge of chemical spill control.
Ability to work independently most of the time, but report to his Manager.
Bechelor degree in Chemistry / Process engineering (water treatment)
