What we need:
BESS Expert: Manages BESS design reviews in Uzbekistan as per ACWA requirements and O&M perspective, while overseeing plant maintenance, including preventive and corrective tasks, outages, overhauls, and startup/shutdown, ensuring compliance with SOPs, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.
-Reviewing Design Review Document that related to Battery Energy Storage System form the O&M perspective
-Ensure BESS maintenance strategies across the Uzbekistan fleet, optimizing operations as per local requirements/ Grid codes
-Monitor the preventive and corrective maintenance and overhauling work activities to ensure continuity and reliability of plant electrical equipment.
-Manage the timely response to all emergency breakdowns and provide prompt corrective action to ensure plant availability, thereby minimizing downtime and possibility of liquidity damages.
-Develop and promote a condition based preventive maintenance culture on day-to-day basis by conducting troubleshooting and root cause analyses, finding solutions to reduce reactive maintenance.
-Troubleshoot critical problems/breakdowns of equipment and investigate, diagnose faults to determine best proper action/repairs while ensuring they comply with NOMAC’s quality and HSE standards.
-Review and analyze electrical equipment maintenance data and conduct site engineering studies to determine the feasibility of introducing modifications to increase reliability and efficiency of plant, thereby ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
-Prepare feasibility studies for new installations, replacements or repair of existing electrical equipment including technical evaluation, specifications, and materials for modifications in addition to process diagrams and cost estimates and ensure proper follow up reports and
evaluation on completed modifications.
Who will fit:
-A bachelor’s degree holder in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering
-5-8 Years experience in Battery Energy Storage System Operation & Maintenance (Utility
Scale preferred or Off-Grid
-Min 3 years’ experience in supervisory Role/ managerial Role
-In-depth knowledge of BESS system components, including batteries, PCS, EMS, and other
related components
-Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to BESS
Operational and maintenance
-Should have strong expertise in SAFOP, RAM, and HAZOP studies related to BESS plants
-In-depth knowledge of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers,
protective relays, and control systems, 220KV AIS system is most preferable.
-Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety standards, with the ability to interpret
schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
-Proficiency in data analysis tools and software used for monitoring and optimizing BESS plant performance.
-Practical experience and know-how of electrical engineering
-Knowledge of downtime analysis and practical knowledge of problem-solving tools
-Knowledge of maintenance management methods, of predictive inspection tools and of
CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System, good knowledge of SAP Template
desirable)
-Project Management
-Detailed understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance theory
-Mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
-Knowledge of the operations in power generation plants and of NOMAC operations
-Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills.
-Experience of having conducted at least one outage for critical electrical equipment.
-Teamwork and effective collaboration skills
