Lead through example to ensure the quality of repair, service and maintenance jobs. The Technical Supervisor should monitor the level of workmanship. Identification of under performing areas should be efficiently communicated and recorded to ensure development and control measures implemented.
Ensure that 5S is maintained and controlled and that all employees are adhering to the system. Team and self-discipline should be applied where necessary and backed up with corrective actions, continuous improvement and training to ensure no repeat occurrences when default occurs on the implemented system.
Joint responsibility with the Workshop Manager to maximize productivity and meet time frame expectations by monitoring and adapting where necessary the staff work assignments as set by the Workshop Manager. This should involve monitoring the daily time sheets and enforcing accurate completion prior to Administration taking possession.
Ensure compliance of the service depart Code Of Conduct, ethics and productivity expectations. Monitor and report non-compliance where required.
Assist in the personal development of staff by lending hands on and theoretical knowledge in order to transfer of skills between employees for both personal and team development. Identifying training requirements the Technical Supervisor will feed back the training requirements to the Workshop & Training Managers.
Identification and feedback of workshop 4’M’ requirements (Methods, Material, Manpower, Machinery) to CQI,
Ensure a safe working environment and help establish and maintain a clear policy, system and procedure. Enforce health & safety on a daily basis.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
Qualifications: Diploma In mechanical engineering or similar
Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience required in heavy equipment’s / Preferable heavy Equipment dealer experience.
Skills: High Technical capability, Reading & writing English, Good computer knowledge, Sound knowledge in the heavy equipment in mechanical & electricals.
