Job Summary
To operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the Ammonia Refrigeration plant and its processes.
Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with safety systems, sustainability & environmental aspects
Key Responsibility Areas
1) Perform all aspects of operation of HVAC related activities & ammonia refrigeration systems (strong background)
2) Perform the installation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant and ammonia systems and all of their components.
3) Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery.
4) On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and utility systems.
5) Conduct the necessary checks of the ammonia systems & compressed air systems on a rotating basis.
6) Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations & should have experience in Food industry & it's standards.
7) Maintain open communications with the supervisors regarding the ammonia systems and pump stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems. Be able to perform and document all activities thorugh Work-order creations, interpret & execute PM & CM jobs planned.
8) Perform daily checks & inspection rounds of the ammonia systems & process and daily reporting for entire ammonia plant areas
9) Have a working knowledge of the operation, methods and procedures of a utility systems including HVAC activities & compressed air systems.
10) Have a working knowledge of the machinery used for Multi-stage ammonia refrigeration systems, chilled water systems, HVAC related systems: Condensers, compressors & LP & HP compressed air-systems
11) Have a working knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction.
12) Have a working knowledge of machinery preventive maintenance and repair.
13) Have knowledge of refrigeration systems/operations & environmental aspects/sustainability and worker’s safety.
14) Have the ability to work with independence and to make routine decisions on the operation of the plant processes and equipment during the supervisor’s absence.
Key Performance Indicators
System Uptime: Maintain 98% operational uptime of HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Incident Response Time: Respond to breakdowns and emergencies within 15 minutes of notification.
Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
Corrective Maintenance Effectiveness: Achieve 90% first-time resolution rate for corrective maintenance (CM) activities.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain 100% compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and food industry standards.
Work Order Execution: Complete and document 100% of assigned work orders within the defined timeframe.
Safety Compliance: Achieve zero safety violations related to ammonia refrigeration and HVAC operations.
Documentation Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy in documenting PM, CM, work orders, and system checks
