Our Sustainability team requires an experienced Lead to join our company. You will be collaborating with our existing team to develop our service offering, building on your specialized technical knowledge whilst working on the design and delivery of some of the most exciting projects in the region.

The position requires a motivated self-starter with a technical background to support projects, ability to liaise with clients and support the team in developing innovative approaches to respond to sustainability challenges.
Key Competencies:
- The successful candidate will be educated to degree / higher degree level in relevant subject (Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Development etc.) and will have achieved, chartered status and / or full or fellow membership of a recognized relevant professional body.
- 11+ years’ experience across the fields of sustainability development projects and buildings, including project management and business development experience.
- Must have rails and transportation experience.
- Regional experience of multi-disciplinary work in large-scale master planning, design and infrastructure projects.
- Possess strong carbon and net zero related expertise; a wide range of skill sets and a willingness to become involved in a broad selection of projects.
- Experience in leading projects related to:
- Sustainability framework and strategy formulation.
- Decarbonization strategies and roadmaps.
- NZEB, Low/Net Zero Carbon/station design strategies.
- Building life-cycle assessments.
- Other sustainable design and advisory services (e.g., climate risk management, energy modelling, etc).
- Relevant technical experience and knowledge of whole-life carbon assessment, analytical tools for embodied and operational carbon, carbon accounting, Net Zero Carbon roadmap for large-scale portfolios.
- Experience in leading projects involving green building certifications such as LEED, Mostadam, Estidama, WELL, etc.
- Must have at least one of the following credentials:
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with specialty (BD+C, ID+C, O+M, ND, Homes).
- Mostadam, Estidama credentials.
- WELL Accredited Professional.
- Low Carbon Consultant/Low Carbon Assessor.
- Residential/Commercial Energy Auditor.
- Other credentials focused on sustainability and sustainable development.
The Individual:
- Excellent analytic and communication skills - we believe in the use of quality data to drive objective decision making.
- Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
- Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other Atkins or client office locations.
- Have strong report writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Have experience with emerging carbon and net zero regulations, guidance and standards.
- Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks, guidance and standards would be an advantage.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated sustainability strategies and design solutions and provide subject matter expert advice to key clients.
- Develop sustainability key performance indicators, strategies and management plans for planning and design projects and implement them throughout the project lifecycle (design, construction, etc.).
- Deliver sustainability certification projects and liaise with authorities and other stakeholders.
- Lead strategic projects with large corporate clients to build and implement ambitious carbon reduction programmes that enable clients to achieve their Net Zero commitments.
- Develop the ways of working that define an environment for successful delivery.
- Support the development of programme processes and systems that enable efficient data collection, management, and benchmarking.
- Mentor junior team members to help develop technical and soft skills within the team.
- Support business development activities with new and existing clients, including bid writing.
- Support the ongoing development of our services, toolkits and capability build.
- Within a collaborative and supportive team of consultants, you will be responsible for winning and delivering projects across our sustainability disciplines. Client liaison, project management and technical delivery will be required from initial client engagement through to provision of final reports.
