We are looking for an energetic Student Life and Community Engagement Officer to join the American University in the Emirates. The ideal candidate will be responsible to plan, organize, and coordinate activities designed to enhance the educational and life experiences of students.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Master\s Degree in an accredited university 1 – 3 years’ practical experience in university
Skills / Training / Knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and community members Experience in planning, organizing, and executing events and activities Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work Skills in building and maintaining relationships with students, faculty, community organizations, and external partners Working knowledge of UAE higher education sector Preferably Bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)
Job Responsibilities
- Organize programs to orient freshmen students to AUE
- Organize internal and external competitions
- Manage AUE Student Clubs
- Organize social events for AUE students
- Organize student trips abroad
- Oversee Student Council and serve as the AUE Student Council Advisor
- Organize Exchange Programs and Study Abroad
- Manage Student Grievance and Discipline Cases
- Manage Financial Support including scholarships, grants, and financial aid
- Organize and manage student recognition initiatives and avenues
- Develop awareness of OSL services, functions, and activities
- Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University mission in line with the university advancement and fundraising plan.
- Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support for the institution.
- Perform any duties as assigned by the superiors
