STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (OFFSHORE)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our team, specializing in Offshore Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The Structural Engineer will play a critical role in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for offshore platforms and associated facilities, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project specifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and Analysis: Develop detailed structural designs, calculations, and drawings for various components of offshore platforms, including topsides, jackets, and subsea structures. Utilize software tools such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or similar for structural analysis considering environmental loads, seismic factors, and dynamic effects.
• Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure structural designs align with project requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
• Compliance and Standards: Interpret and apply project specifications, client requirements, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., API RP 2A, AISC, Eurocodes) to ensure compliance throughout the design and execution phases.
• Review and Coordination: Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate structural design activities with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
• Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, reports, and documentation related to structural materials, construction methods, and quality assurance.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and drafters to support their professional development and ensure quality of deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on Offshore Oil & Gas projects preferred.
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of offshore structural systems, including steel and concrete design, foundation design, and offshore installation methods.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to offshore structural engineering (e.g., API RP 2A, AISC, Eurocodes).
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
