This is a position that requires a high level of trust, professionalism and communication. The Alpin Business Development team is looking for an engineer with a strong business acumen who would like to develop his/her leadership, negotiation and business development skills.
This role will be based in the UAE.

Strategic Development Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Acquire potential clients and manage client relationships;
- Arrange meetings with clients across UAE and Saudi Arabia and attend new Business
- Development meetings;
- Source opportunities and leads, and research potential clients that would fit the overall
- Alpin BD strategy;
- Report progress on project acquisition targets to the Strategic Development Manager consistently;
- Travel frequently across Saudi Arabia and outside the kingdom (business trips);
- Active participation in events and conferences;
- Support Alpin’s advertising and marketing strategy, in particular in the UAE and KSA;
- Work closely with the Operations Team to establish and manage client networks effectively;
- Conduct research to identify new markets/projects and customer needs;
- Review and respond to RFPs and develop corresponding quotes and proposals;
- Follow up on proposals and negotiate to close out agreements;
- Document sales progress and forecast;
- Support the team for official external prequalification (PQ) registrations and keep the
- Alpin PQ Registration List updated, login details included;
- Assist the bidding team with proposal development; and
- Support the team with all contract extension requests and coordinate with respective consultants for follow up;
Skills:
-
University degree in engineering required, a secondary degree in business is a plus;
- Experience in sales, marketing, engineering, and/or environmental Sciences;
- Excellent communications/presentations skills;
- Ability to build and manage relationships successfully;
- Construction and/or green building industry experience is a plus;
- Excellent negotiation skills;
- Good communication skills both in English and Arabic, both in writing and speaking;
- The ability to handle pressure and meet very tight deadlines;
- Ability to self-motivate and drive forward business;
- At least 1 to 2 years’ experience, preferably with working with contractors;
- UAE driving license & personal mode of transportation is required;
- A pleasant attitude - happy to join a close-knit, entrepreneurial, technical team in the UAE;
- Common sense and ability to manage situations and to think critically on their feet;
- Trust, discretion and confidentiality are of the highest importance;
- Very organized, well-presented, and with Business Development Skills.
- Very high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign experience is a plus;
- IT savvy; strong computer skills (SaaS, Software installation and hardware);
- Must have good “attention-to-detail' skills;
- Excellent phone and interactive skills; and
- Self-starter who needs minimal supervision and does not mind managing their own
work;
