JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose
Provides expert advice and consultancy services to the Company on matters related with painting, coatings, linings, passive fire proofing, elastomer as well as composite materials for pressure and non-pressure containment applications.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
• Review, revise and update Corporate Painting Specification, Standards and recommended practices for topsides & subsea facilities.
• Provide technical recommendations for surface preparation, coating systems choice, application means, quality control of protective coating & lining applications for both offshore and onshore plant and equipment for on-going in-house & fabric maintenance campaigns as well as projects.
• Provides technical recommendations for the most suitable products and application methods to be used by analyzing variables related to environment, operating conditions, products and application techniques.
• Evaluate technical proposals of contractor’s coating specifications, procedures. Responsible for approval of dispensations and non-conformances for protective coating, internal lining, PFP (passive fire proofing) and elastomeric coatings.
• Carry out internal auditing to ensure that the materials, applications as well as existing condition meet requirements of related paint specifications, standards, recommended practices.
• Conducts Technical evaluation & approval of procedures for repairs of pressurized & non-pressurized systems using composite repair materials. Carry out testing if desired and monitor & witness critical applications to facilitate evaluation.
• Carry out Failure analysis/ Root Cause Analysis and to investigate any coating and non-metallic failure along with Corrosion engineer & site paint inspectors.
• Recommends design and installation of thermal and acoustic insulation systems.
• Carry out testing of new materials as per the company requirements for specific areas including testing on new paint product or paint systems.

Supervision • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
• Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

• Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices
Reports
• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management
Internal Communications & Working Relationships
Contact with line Manager/ peers and other employees within the company/Group as required
External Communications & Working Relationships
Contact with external parties including consultants, third party service providers, and government agencies as required
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
8 years of experience.
